Click here to read our Q&A Sheet to help answer some basic questions about getting involved, age requirements, etc.

What to wear: Please wear warm clothing and comfortable walking shoes. Especially if you are on a street engagement team, you will be walking a lot outside, in the middle of January! Gloves, hats, scarves, multiple layers, etc. are strongly suggested. Also recommended is some sort of backpack or bag to carry the homeless care kits.

What to bring:

1. It is strongly suggested you bring a “homeless care kit” with you when you come. These will be given to the folks you encounter on the street!  It may include the following:

  • Soap
  • Shampoo (travel size)
  • Deodorant
  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrush
  • Shaving cream (travel size)
  • Razors
  • Underwear (all sizes)
  • Socks (white and black)
  • Hats
  • Gloves
  • Individually wrapped, healthy snack
  • Blankets

2. If you are a member or leader for a subway team, please bring a unlimited metro card with you to the outreach! THANK YOU!

3. A specific request we’d like to ask of your church is for vans to aid our transportation team in delivering volunteers to zones, as well as those we engage on the streets to our anchor churches.  If your church can provide a van and designated driver for either one or multiple Saturdays, please let us know as soon as possible.
